ShakeMap is the recommended source for strong motion data. ShakeMap currently automatically includes data from both the PNSN and the NSMP. For each event, go to the "Download" area (right hand side of menu bar) to get to the most useful files. For example, the "stationlist.txt" file is an ASCII file containing station name, coordinates, peak velocity and peak acceleration.
Please refer to the list or map below for summary information for earthquakes that occurred prior to the PNSN implementation of ShakeMap. The list and map are no longer being updated.
You can access preliminary strong motion Web pages for individual earthquakes by clicking on the date in the event list or by clicking on the epicenters in the map. (Afershocks are disabled on the map). Individual pages have summary information and waveform images (in some cases).Event Table
