Seismologists in the Pacific Northwest have been getting a lot of calls in recent days after a major earthquake rattled remote Southern California over the Fourth of July weekend. No one was killed, but the event raised many questions. Harold Tobin, director of the Pacific Northwest Seismic Network and a professor of Earth and space sciences at the UW, is quoted.
